How to Choose the Right Engineering Partner
The questions every agency should ask before outsourcing development.
If you've outsourced development before, you already know the biggest risk usually isn't the code. It's everything around it - communication that goes quiet, deadlines that slip without warning, or a partner who forgets whose reputation is on the line.
Agency owners aren't really buying developers. They're buying confidence that delivery won't become their problem to manage.
Here are the questions worth asking before you sign anything.
This is the single most important question, and it's also one of the easiest to ask badly.
Don't accept “of course” as an answer-ask how it's handled in practice.
- Will their team ever communicate directly with your clients?
- Will they expect public credit for the work?
- How do they handle confidentiality?
A partner who can't answer these questions clearly has probably not built their business around supporting agencies.

Want a Second Opinion?
Evaluating an engineering partner is an important decision.
If you'd like an independent second opinion on a partner you're considering-even if it's not I-Genesys-we're happy to talk it through.
Sometimes asking a few extra questions before you sign can save months of frustration later.
